ESSENTIAL Ergonomic Workstation Education Sessions
Individually tailored packages designed to suit your industry, worksite and individual requirements. This allows participants to be intentionally and specifically directed through the session, encouraging group participation and individual involvement in their learning. Active participation in sessions results in individuals being able to engage practically and gain a better understanding of the topics covered.
There are 3 basic training session options available ranging from theory and demonstrations through to reviews of individuals in their workstations and provision of reports of varying detail. The training is designed to suit worksite, individuals and budget requirements. The packages provide options for brief or detailed reporting along with basic recommendations through to assistance with ordering and equipment allocation to required staff.

OPTION 1: Training with demonstrations only- No Individual Review Component
- Implement training with the employees (theory including use of PowerPoint presentation 45-60 mins, provision of stretches relevant to the job duties to minimise fatigue (10-15 minutes);
- Training provides the group with the foundation to understand possible alteration that they can make to their workstation and also allow them to have information about how to re-set their workstation if they move desk/site. The training involves a presentation and question time.
OPTION 2: Training and Individual Review Component and “Tick-and-Flick” report
- Implement training with the employees (theory including use of PowerPoint presentation 45-60 mins, provision of stretches relevant to the job duties to minimise fatigue (10-15 minutes). The training involves a presentation and question time;
- Training provides the group with the foundation to understand possible alteration that they can make to their workstation and also allow them to have information about how to re-set their workstation if they move desk/site.
- Individuals are then reviewed at their workstations and a checklist ‘tick-and-flick’ assessment sheet is provided with alterations made and possible equipment provision recommendations.
OPTION 3: Training and Individual Review Component and Summary Report with recommendations
- Implement training with the employees (theory including use of PowerPoint presentation 45-60 mins, provision of stretches relevant to the job duties to minimise fatigue (10-15 minutes). The training involves a presentation and question time;
- Training provides the group with the foundation to understand possible alteration that they can make to their workstation and also allow them to have information about how to re-set their workstation if they move desk/site.
- Provision of a summary report with collated individual equipment recommendations and alterations made, specific equipment items identified in company supplier catalogues, education provided and general recommendations for ergonomic equipment for application to reduce strain and assist with injury risk reduction.

- Discuss the purpose of the training with key parties at the site to ensure their participation and support of the proposed training to encourage staff;
- Implement training with the employees (theory including use of PowerPoint presentation 45-60 mins, provision of stretches relevant to the job duties to minimise fatigue (10-15 minutes).
OPTION 2: Training and Practical Component – No Competencies Assessment
- Design work/job specific manual handling training package (training and competency assessment) including discussions regarding the purpose of the training with key parties at the site to ensure their participation and support of the proposed training to encourage staff;
- Implement training with the employees (theory including use of PowerPoint presentation 15-20 minutes); hands on training and observation of the educated techniques (30-45 minutes) and provision of stretches relevant to the job duties to minimise fatigue (10-15 minutes);
OPTION 3: Training and Practical Component and Competencies Assessment
- Review the various areas / jobs on site (worksite);
- Design work/job specific manual handling training package (training and competency assessment) including discussions regarding the purpose of the training with key parties at the site to ensure their participation and support of the proposed training to encourage staff;
- Implement training to the employees (theory including use of PowerPoint presentation 15-20 minutes); hands on training and observation of the educated techniques (30-45 minutes) and provision of stretches relevant to the job duties to minimise fatigue (10-15 minutes);
- Perform a brief competency assessment with the groups (workers / supervisors) (5-10 minutes) to ensure that everyone has understood and is able to demonstrate use in a practical setting once training has been provided. The results of these competencies are compiled and provided to the workplace for use in HR records.
